How close are we?

A number of members have been asking us how close we are to opening. Patrick, our president, put together this handy graph-of-carrots showing the different metrics we are measuring progress by. While we've been focused on getting membership to 500, you can see we'll soon need to start filling in the final carrot: member equity, loans, and grants. We have recently submitted our Loan Compliance documents with the State of CA, and once those are approved we'll be looking to make a dent in our final major hurdle: getting loans, first from the membership and then from outside sources if necessary.

How can you help? Become a member; spread the word and get new people involved; invest above the minimum, or even fully; and when we call for loans, please respond. We're well on the way, and entering the home stretch, so keep watching for all the new stuff that will be happening in the coming months.

- New members: Marv@Penpoint Challenge
All new members will automatically be enrolled for a chance at the coveted member number 500 and a copy of the beautiful book
"at home Pasadena". Marv was the first to challenge our readers to do what she did - join the Co-op. When we reach the 500 count she (and Evan and Adele) will go up to their full $300 investment. Help us reach this goal by joining today. Everyone wins!

- Membership Team meeting
The Membership Team is setting up a new round of coffee shop hops, and working to get us to our membership goals. Please come to the meeting and help out.

- Product Team Meeting
The Product Team was successful at creating the Sourcing Guidelines. Now we need to carry on with change policies, locavore dinners, agrarian tours and more. All members are welcome to attend and help.

- Bricks & Mortar Team Meeting
Our Bricks and Mortar Team will be researching locations, prioritizing the kind of retail space we want, and helping to get our store open and operational. All members are welcome to attend and help with this critical phase of our Co-op.
