Ginko has been an ardent supporter. She’s attended lots of meetings, tabled with us at the Farmer’s market, set up Google flyer distribution map, worked with the Marketiing Team on graphic designs and more. Just recently she’s come up with a great membership challenge idea.
Here’s the deal: She’s joined at the $30 level but has pledged to go all the way to $300 when the total number of members has reached 125.
We’re currently at 92 members so the additional 33 is quite doable. The big thing is that this will get us over the important three digit psychological hurdle.
At the same meeting where this idea came up, one other member said she’d do the same. Since then a third member has joined in.
So now, dear reader, we ask for your help. If you’ve among the hundreds of folks watching our progress but have not yet joined, will you please become an owner today? You’ll help us by upping our owner count and getting us closer to this next goal of 125 total member-owners. When you and 32 others send in their membership forms and checks (even at the $30 minimum level) you’ll have leveraged an additional $650 in capital into our total. All these are very important steps toward opening the Arroyo Food Cooperative grocery store.
Not only will this help us now but it will help us in the future - showing that this sort of challenge works. Plus this gets you into a fun group of people who are trying to improve our community.
So download a membership form today.

Thanks so much!
The Founding Team

Sorry, this comment is a little late to be posted here but the Ginko Challenge was a success!
It was started early in March when we were at 92 members. We cleared the goal of 125 in the middle of April. This was our first attempt at such a membership building tool and we got a good response. We’ve learned a few things and are working on setting up the next challenge.
Thank you everyone that participated!
