Our Arroyo Food Co-op site was attacked today by spammers that somehow got around our CAPTCHA security system. Two or three junk messages got sent out supposedly advertising holiday offers.

The spammers did one test registration yesterday, then today in the course of an hour they registered 21 times. All those users have been blocked, their messages deleted and the site has been changed to require administration approval of all registrations.
This should take care of the problem although this means more work for us in the future as we have to check the validity of each registration.
