Maybe you already read this in the Pasadena Star News, but there recently was an interesting article about a Community Supported Agriculture effort in South El Monte:
"Folks in search of vegetables, fruits and herbs grown without chemical pesticides don't need to look far.
One such place is the EarthWorks Community Farm at the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte. Every Saturday, freshly harvested produce is sold from 10 a.m. to noon. Some people sign up as members of the farm's Community Supported Agriculture program and get a big bag of fruits and vegetables every week."
